What a blessed day!  We made our way south a couple of hours to our friends, the Harrells.  This family is dear to our hearts.  Here, the girls playing with sweet Hannah.

Nate with a silly face.  My, how he is growing.  We just saw him a few weeks ago and he has grown even more since then!

Zach and Josiah.

Deanna, overdoing herself, and producing a Thanksgiving brunch AND a Thanksgiving meal.  We LOVE when Deanna is in the kitchen.

Kathy spinning on her portable drop spindle.  No, (sigh!), she couldn’t fit her Schacht in the car and bring it with her.

James tuned their new piano which is a terrific piano.  It’s a Yamaha studio.  (Certain Yamaha studio models trump most grands.)  Roger’s folks were visiting for the week and we enjoy them so.  They are an example to us of multi-generational family harmony.   I especially enjoy how Julie relates to her daughter-in-law.  She is an older woman that has words of wisdom and lives at peace with her family.  (Titus 2 in the flesh.)  When Julie says something, I make note of it.

Apple cranberry pie, pecan pie, peanut brittle (a first for our children), banana bread, and Hannah’s famous brownies which were consumed in a flash.  Hannah’s favorite thing to make is brownies!

Emily, Hope, and Julie serving tea.  And since Deanna was in charge, there is not one tea, but three teas to be served … blueberry, peach, and raspberry.  (Didn’t I say it?  We LOVE when Deanna is in the kitchen.)  Roger Sr. in the background is an amazing man.  He was a firefighter and after all those years has not lost his touch in the kitchen.  If a pan needs washed, he’ll be there!

Hannah and Abigail.

Shelby (beagle), Honey (golden retriever), and Jackson (dauchsund).

Josiah is growing up too!

Matthew’s three friends.  Somehow we missed a photo of James and Roger.

We just love Hannah.  She is a ball full of joy.

We are deeply thankful for the Harrell family.  And I especially thankful for Deanna.  Every time I am with her I am blessed.  I have learned so much from her and appreciate her friendship.  She has a lively personality and she is a devoted wife and mother and she loves the Lord and she is loving and she demonstrates compassion and she is always learning about something new and … the list just keeps going on.

Please see Karen’s blog for what we did the rest of the weekend.
