Final thoughts tomorrow.

This stuffed critter has become a dear friend of the family.
Another picnic activity was building with straws. This illustrated the fact that we, as believers, need to be careful as to how we build on the foundation God has laid.
Next up…the pie contest!

Family Portraits
Families had to draw pictures that displayed how they redeem the time.
A budding artist takes a drink break.
This was followed up by making objects out of PlayDoh that represent how we redeem our time. Some of these were very creative.

Running the Race.
Running races are a way to remind us that the Christian life is like a race, as Paul write in 1 Corinthians 9 and the writer of Hebrews writes in Hebrews 12:
1 Cor 9:24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
Heb 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us…
At the picnic we had a race, made a bit more difficult (to remind us of the trials and difficulties we have in running the race) by the inclusion of a certain object that made running harder.
This year we hosted our church for their second annual picnic. It was a joy to gather with the saints for some refreshment and fellowship. This year’s theme was Redeeming the Time, based on this verse:
Ephesians 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
I’ll be posting pictures from the picnic throughout the week. Below are the families gathering together and engaging in one of the unity games.
